This Berry lemonade with honey is refreshing, delicious and a delightful thirst quencher from the sweltering summer heat.
I’m sure everyone enjoys a glass of plain, good old fashioned lemonade to quench their thirst during the sweltering summer heat. But why just stick to plain lemonade when you can pump its flavor by infusing so many other citrusy, refreshing fruits as well!
I’m not a sucker for very sweet lemonade, I like mine a little tart! I’ve skipped using sugar in this lemonade by using honey, and it works great too!
If you like your lemonade sweet, then simply use simple syrup (equal parts of sugar and water). In this case, you could take 1/2 cup sugar dissolved in 1/2 cup water. Add this to the freshly squeezed lemon juice, add in the berry juice and add 1 & 1/2 cups of water.
Whichever way you prefer, I’m sure this will help you beat the summer heat and cool you down:)

Just the photos make my mouth water. Sounds so refreshing! Beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
So refreshing! And I love that you added honey instead of sugar. Definitely gonna keep it in mind going forward 🙂
Thanks sweetie 🙂
It certainly looks refreshing, as well as being a delightful colour. I imagine several berry-types would be OK for this one? We have freezer full of raspberries, blackberries and red and blackcurrants from our garden last year. Unfortunately, we have a bit of a wait before the hot weather arrives in the UK (if it ever does!) but I’ll give this a go then. The honey idea sounds good as I don’t like over-sweet drinks, either. 🙂
Hi. Millie ! Thanks so much:) even plain strawberries would be great . I used a mix of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries 🙂
What a gorgeous crimson color! Looking forward to giving these a go! YUM!!

Wow, we are definitely on the same page this week, Freda! I spent a good portion of the day today photographing Strawberry Lemonade. I love your berry lemonade. Don’t the berries just add the best flavor? It is so pretty, too. I will have to try blackberries next time.
Thanks Shari ! They do add a lovely flavor ! Loved yours too 🙂
Love Lemonade! Thank you for this great recipe!
Glad you liked it ! Thanks Archana 🙂
Love this Freda-we are always making a new non alcoholic beverage here. I love using my lemons (we grow) for lemonade-I do have a recipe using strawberries/lemonade it is very refreshing too. Cheryl x
I wish I could grow stuff too , living in an apartment doesn’t give you much of an opportunity to do that 🙁 just have a couple of herbs growing 🙂
Well Freda I am blessed having lived on the Atlantic Ocean my entire life, when we married my Father found this place and made the owners an offer they could not refuse! It is 35 miles south of where I was raised. Since then (12 years ago) the family increased additions made, renovations, etc. Father paid back…Life is good. On the land was already bananas and coconuts and several lemon herb trees we added to it. I started a garden that is now over one acre and my herbs. My kitty cat stays inside the home and I can not have any plants in the home so we built a huge screened-in porch for them and my herbs (in large pots). It just sort of evolved over the years. x
That’s really nice Cheryl! My mum in law has a really nice veggie and fruit garden in Goa ! There it’s like the country side , love it 🙂
A blogging friend Nandini (Goan Imports) is from Goa! I love her- and her recipes. She is a great friend and wonderful lady! Cheryl x
Yes Cheryl! I follow her lovely blog too 🙂

Oh my goodness, that looks so refreshing Freda! Here in the U.S. I woke up to a dusting of snow, so it might be a while before I try to make this delicious drink. 🙂 Summer and heat is many months away.
Thanks Kathryn ! We have thunderstorms for the next few days , then it’s gonna be 82 degrees
Mumbai is hot !! I want some !
Aargh I remember the Mumbai heat ??
I am living it and it is HELL !
I can imagine! Summer’s are bad here too 🙁 just like Mumbai !
Oh ! Then more power to you to beat the heat and churn out some more coolants ! Good day !
Lol yeah 🙂
This is lovely. I do one with maqui berries, beet, ginger and lemon. I like to blend the whole lemon in my lemonades. A friend and I were doing a competition and I had to outdo him and this was what I came up with. <3
Thanks ! Doesn’t blending the whole lemon make it too strong ? And what about the bitterness from the pith ?
I hear you, but it doesn’t taste bitter to me. I also strain the mixture after. I also add honey instead of sugar. The balance is good.
Cool ! I like you idea , I’ll give it a go the next time I make lemonade:)
I hope you’ll enjoy it, too. <3
Will surely write about it:)
