Dahi ( yogurt ) chicken, a delicious dish that requires minimal effort and delivers scrumptious results! Don’t you just love it when it’s easy to cook up a tasty meal without having to slog it out in the kitchen? Indian food can be daunting, given its long list of ingredients and a lot of sautéing. But that’s the trade-off with authentic Indian dishes. Most North Indian dishes need these lengthy procedures but the resultant dish is well worth the effort!
Chicken 65 is a popular dish in South India, mostly served as an appetizer/entrée. Bone in or boneless chicken chunks are marinated in a flavorful and spicy marinade and deep fried. Of course, anything fried HAS to be tasty!! Period! In most cases, red food color is added to the marinade, which gives this dish an even more appetizing look. Stuffed squids aka calamari are a classic and popular Goan appetizer! You will find it on the menu of most Goan beach shacks. It is stuffed with a mix of sauteed onions and chopped tentacles cooked in the fiery and tangy Goan recheado masala paste.
Clam pulao is a delicious and aromatic pulao/pilaf prepared in coastal Goa. The addition of sweet prawns/shrimps or clams, greatly embellish a simple pulao. You would not even need a side dish as the pulao is a complete dish on its own. Shrimp and clam pulao are my personal favorites amongst all the varieties of pulao, for its deliciousness, ease & speed of preparation. This Goan Tisreo (Clam) Pulao/Pilaf is one of that minimal effort, maximum flavor kind of dishes. Of course, if you are using fresh clams, you gotta clean ’em up and stuff. But I wouldn’t really complain knowing the end result that awaits me after the preparation of this pulao.
