Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dad’s out there! I hope you had a fabulous day with your kids. I personally do not believe that one single day is required to show your love to your parents or a spouse, as every day is Father’s/Mother’s day or whatever other day exists. But yes, I do believe it is nice to have such a day since one can take that extra effort of showing your love and gratitude. And then, of course, everything is so commercialized these days, one can’t help but just go along with it 😀
Karachi biscuits are popular Indian tea time cookies. These egg-free fruit biscuits have derived their name from the famous “Karachi bakery” in Hyderabad, India. They are sweet, crumbly, melt in the mouth, studded with candied fruits and flavored with two of my favorite’s- cardamom and rose.
My Blog turns 2 today !!. I’m actually quite surprised and thrilled about my blogging journey thus far. Hi guys ! Hope everyone is doing great! First off let me start with some exciting news happening on my home front ! My daughter Katelyn was born on the 24th of February , and hence I’ve been away from blogging for a while. Y’all know the drill of having a newborn around if you’ve been there, done that 😀 This post and the ones that will follow in the coming weeks are all scheduled, as I was sure I wouldn’t have much time at hand to blog.
And I also know taking a break only makes it harder to return. Experienced this in June last year and it took me 2 months to get back to blogging again. So this time I did a little homework to avoid that scenario 🙂 I will surely catch up on all your posts sooner, meanwhile I’m enjoying this precious phase for the second time in my life.
I never imagined I would be baking bread at home. But then as you know things happen and you end up really surprising yourself by doing things you never dreamt about doing in the first place. As intimidating as baking bread seem, it really isn’t, once you get past that initial fear! I still consider myself an amateur in this area, and still have a long way to go! The different kinds of flour, bakers percentage, hydration, bulk ferment, sourdough, artisan, Polish, biga to name a few are words that I’ve probably never ever came across before! Now I know the words, but still, have to know how to work with a couple of them. I have tried my hands at sourdough and I hope to do a post on that in the coming months too 🙂 For today let’s see how to make these basic ladi pao/pav/ dinner rolls.
